Montandon Baptist Church

Committed to Serve Christ, Comissioned to Serve Others

February is Love Gift month... Love Gift boxes and envelopes will be available throughout January. If you are already working on filling one, keep up the good work!....

My life shall touch a dozen lives
Before this day is done;
Leave countless marks for good or ill
Ere sets this evening sun.
So this the wish I always wish,
The prayer I ever pray:
Let my life help other lives
It touches by the way.

Love Gift

FYI… Opportunities to reach out to the Haitian people are made available through “One Great Hour of Sharing”. Write “Haitian Disaster Relief” on your plain or mission envelope with your donation. Other mission outreaches: Race Track Ministry, Wycliffe missionaries, The Parks, Youth for Christ, Muncy Prison Chaplaincy…

We will have a "Baby Shower" for "EXPECTATIONS" on July 6th at our Mission picnic. All gifts are appreciated from the congregation and friends. Thank you for your support of mission promotion!

Our Mission J.U.I.C.E. team's hands were working again...  They encouraged us to reach out helping hands as a church family, to reach out from Montandon to help transform lives... throughout God's world while promoting America for Christ. $213.00 was collected. The team put up a "hand" in the sanctuary for every dollar collected and they reached completely around. Awesome job team!!!

White Cross Allocations

This year our allocations went to Rankin Christian Center, Rankin, PA.  Thank you....

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD boxes were delivered to the place of distribution. A very generous donation of $400 was given to cover shipping costs. Huge thanks to Joan Mertz, Karen Bergen, and friends for their fervent dedication of this project. Watch January sales as we begin collecting for 2011.  Thank you…

Baptist Children Service's has a new name! Their new doing-business name, BCS YES! Youth Empowered to Succeed became effective in July 2007! They believe the new name honors the Agency's history that began in 1879 as the Baptst Children's Orphange of Philadelphia. it highlight their present-day care of adolescents and teens ages 13-18, and reflects their legal status as a non-profit residential services Agency that accepts at-risk youth regardless of race, religion, national origin, or gender.

BCS YES! affirms their committment to provide the best care possible to the young people we serve. Youth Empowered to Succeed is their signature suite of enrichment programs that produce remarkable results; programs like academic tutoring, basic life skills, computer literacy, and health, fitness and nutrition. The full name is important, as it carries the story of their success with at-risk youth into the New Year.

Never know what the show will be like at our Dorcas Picnic at the Pardoe Farm.

Dorcas Missionary Society
AKA known in the American Baptist realm as American Baptist Women's Ministry. We invite all women to join us as we serve God's world. We meet every other month from September - May. Our final program is a July picnic. Through fundraising we support above and beyond mission giving in our community and to our missionaries, Love Gift, and White Cross Allocations. We promote, encourage, and support mission-giving through our congregation at Montandon Baptist Church.  Jamie

The Pregnancy Care Center 9 N. 3rd St. Lewisburg,PA 570-524-6872

F.Y.I... The Pregnancy Care Center has changed their name. It is now "Expectation's Women Center".

Many young women who have thoughts of abortion will shy away from a Pregnancy Care Center.

Their mission has remained the same. To Empower Individuals and Transform Lives through the Unconditional Love of Jesus Christ. I will link their Expectation's website to their PCC title. The other active website is www.rupregnantinpa.org

Wycliffe missionaries Dan & Lucia Brubaker are home on furlough from Mail, W. Africa and visited our church on Friday evening,July 31st. They hope to return June 2010 to continue the work on the OT Minyanka translations.

Hey.. Are you planning to clean out your closets soon? Finding old sneakers that you don't want to pay the garbage company to  haul away? I found out HandUP Foundation has a sneaker recycling center. They also take other lightly used clothes, etc... to sell in their store. This is one of our mission outreaches, chosen because the foundation helps people/families that have great losses. If you are interested in what ways old sneakers are used, pleae visit http://www.nikereuseashoe.com/
