Committed to Serve Christ, Comissioned to Serve Others

My life shall touch a dozen lives
Before this day is done;
Leave countless marks for good or ill
Ere sets this evening sun.
So this the wish I always wish,
The prayer I ever pray:
Let my life help other lives
It touches by the way.

Love Gift

February was Love gift month... The Dorcas Missionary Society plaed "Love Gift boxes" on each table at their January breakfast. This helped bring our total to $143.94 for our "Special Offering of Love". Additional Love Gift offereings were collected at the 3/12/09 Dorcas Program as well sa boxes turned in on March 15th. We also received Love Gift boxes from our sisters in Christ who passed away, Faylene Weaver and Nancy Weaver. Our total for this year's Love Gift promotion came to $198.52.

Don't let worry and care depress you or brush the days' joy away, but rise and give thanks to God above for His Love and another "Blest Day".

Remember to drop a coin in yur "Love Gift Box". Let's see if we can stuff it full for 2010!  Love Gift Chairperson, Anna Walter  :')

America For Christ

America For Christ Offering

The Mission J.U.I.C.E. is promoting American For Christ Offering. Every week, as envelopes and boxes are collected and counted, one helping hand will be colored on the chart in the sanctuary for every $5.00 collected. A special dedication will follow at the end of the month.

Church Members

1. Some are like wheelbarrows, they have to be pushed.

2. Some are like canoes, they have to be paddled.

3. Some are like kites, without a string on them, they fly away.

4. Some are like footballs: never know which way they will bounce.

5. Some are like balloons: full of hot wind and ANXIOUS to blow up.

6. Some are like trailers, must be hitched to someone else to work.

7. Some are like neon lights: keep going on and off.

8. Some (Thank God) are like Peter, Paul, James, and John: They service God to the very best of their ability and God grant that they may increase.

"I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land." Deut. 15: 11

The "Shoe Boxes" are all enroute to their destinations, with God's Speed for sure. We thank everyone that helped with donations that filled over 60 shoe boxes. For all the work Joan Mertz did with promotions, wrapping, and filling each box with not only the items, but with loving hands. We will leave the list below for us to collect items as we see them throughout 2009. God bless ...

Baptist Children Service's has a new name! Their new doing-business name, BCS YES! Youth Empowered to Succeed became effective in July 2007! They believe the new name honors the Agency's history that began in 1879 as the Baptst Children's Orphange of Philadelphia. it highlight their present-day care of adolescents and teens ages 13-18, and reflects their legal status as a non-profit residential services Agency that accepts at-risk youth regardless of race, religion, national origin, or gender.

BCS YES! affirms their committment to provide the best care possible to the young people we serve. Youth Empowered to Succeed is their signature suite of enrichment programs that produce remarkable results; programs like academic tutoring, basic life skills, computer literacy, and health, fitness and nutrition. The full name is important, as it carries the story of their success with at-risk youth into the New Year.

Dorcas Missionary Society
AKA known in the American Baptist realm as American Baptist Women's Ministry. We invite all women to join us as we serve God's world. We meet every other month from September - May. Our final program is a July picnic. Through fundraising we support above and beyond mission giving in our community and to our missionaries, Love Gift, and White Cross Allocations. We promote, encourage, and support mission-giving through our congregation at Montandon Baptist Church.  Jamie
